architectural photograpy workshop - exhibition

URBAN FRAME. DUAL ARCHITECTURE

Student exchange program (Erasmus) opened new opportunities, inspired and gave a lot of knowledge and wisdom. After my colleague Birute Petruskaite and I came back to Lithuania, we have decided to organize a unique architectural photography workshop - exhibition to inspire architecture students to "dive" deeper into architectural photography. ,,Urban frame" (,,Miesto kadras") was born. Our Facebook page shares architectural photography news and events.

The poster invited all architecture and interior design students to the first lecture which introduced the topic of the workshop. Great lithuanian architects and photographers gave us their perspective on architecture and photography (Audrius Ambrasas, Tomas Grunskis, Gintautas Trimakas, Raimondas Urbakavičius).  We have gathered around 180 enthusiasts in Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius.

Photos from the introductory event. The task of the workshop was to find one piece of architecture and show it in two photographs showing two different emotions/portaits of the same building. It might be done using light and shadow, silhouette, interior, exterior - it was the challenge student should take.

After all photos were sent, the jury were deciding the best photographs. Jury -  Audrius Ambrasas, Tomas Grunskis, Saulius Slavinskas, Gintautas Trimakas, Raimondas Urbakavičius, Leonas Garbačaukas.
